Besonders durch diese intimen Einblicke in die Erfahrungswelt der Schüler, soll die Forschungsfrage beantwortet werden. Neben den Einstellungen und Erfahrungen sollen durch die Interviews auch Wünsche zum Vorschein kommen, die die Schüler mit Migrationshintergrund möglicherweise zu diesem Thema haben.
Ausgangspunkt für die Wahl qualitativer Forschungsmethoden warfare die Tatsache, dass bisherige Studien zum Thema Integration durch (Schul-)Sport qualitative Forschungsmethoden stark vernachlässigt haben.
