Zahlreiche Werke die in englischer und deutscher Sprache verfasst sind, müssen aber unter dem Gesichtspunkt betrachtete werden, das sie teilweise aus rein britischer Sicht geschrieben wurden und die indische Sichtweise kaum beachten. Meine hier vorliegende Arbeit zum Thema “Die Unabhängigkeit Indiens. Entwicklung und Arbeit der Unabhängigkeitsbewegung bis 1947” beschäftigt sich mit der Fragestellung, welche Bedingungen es für eine solche politische Bewegung in Indien, nicht nur durch die Kolonialmacht gab und wie diese mit ihr umging. Zudem soll untersucht werden welche Entwicklung 1947 zu einer Zwei-Staaten-Lösung führte und welche Politik das Britische Empire betrieb. Dabei wird sich die Arbeit mit dem Zeitraum von 1600 bis 1950 befassen um so ein umfassendes Bild zur Kolonial- und Unabhängigkeitspolitik zu liefern. Da die Dekolonisation die Kolonisation voraussetzt, wird diese im ersten Kapitel behandelt werden, erste Bedingungen einer Zusammenarbeit zwischen Briten und Indern suchen und Folgen für die Unabhängigkeitsbewegung ableiten.
